What goes into every report
Each report runs the vehicle through the checks below. If a record exists, it shows up. If nothing has ever been reported, the report says that too.
Title and ownership
Every title record on file, who issued it and when, plus any brand attached to it such as salvage, junk, flood or rebuilt.
See it in the sample reportAccidents and total loss
Accidents reported to the authorities, and any point where an insurer wrote the vehicle off as a total loss.
See it in the sample reportOdometer readings
Mileage recorded at each title transfer, so a reading that drops or jumps is easy to spot.
See it in the sample reportSafety recalls
Open manufacturer recalls for the model, what the fault was, and whether the repair was ever carried out.
See it in the sample reportJunk and salvage records
Filings from insurers, salvage yards and auto recyclers, including vehicles sold for parts or scrapped.

We run the records
Your vehicle is checked against title, insurance, salvage, auction, recall and listing data across the United States and Canada.
Your PDF arrives
The finished report is emailed to you as a PDF you can keep, print or forward, within the delivery time of your plan.

Private buyers
You have found a car you like and the price looks right. One report tells you whether the seller's story matches the paperwork before you hand over any money.
Premium suits most buyersSellers
A clean history is worth showing. Attaching a report to your listing answers the questions buyers were going to ask anyway, and usually shortens the haggling.

Checking several cars a month adds up. The multi-report plans bring the cost per vehicle down, and the reports stay available until you use them.

What a report is, and what it is not
A vehicle history report is built from records: registrations, insurance claims, salvage filings, recalls and listings. It is the fastest way to find red flags in a vehicle's paperwork.
It is not a mechanical inspection. It cannot see wear, hidden damage, poor repairs or anything that was never reported. For the best picture, use the report to spot problems in the paperwork, then have the car inspected in person by a qualified mechanic.
Every report includes
- A downloadable PDF you can keep, print or forward
- Delivery by email to the address you give at checkout
- Clear "no record found" results where nothing was reported
- Support from a real person by email, phone or live chat
Boats too
Buying a used boat?
The Boat Report runs a boat registered in the United States or Canada through the same kind of checks: title and registration history, accident information, junk and salvage records, safety recall status, boat specification and online listing history, wherever those records exist.
Order it with the boat's HIN (hull identification number, usually on the right side of the transom) or its state or provincial registration number. One report for $69 USD, emailed within 2 hours. A report is not a marine survey, so have the boat checked by a qualified surveyor too.
